Ronald Cozart passed away peacefully on April 26, 2016 at the age of 68 after battling an illness he likely contracted after serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was born on August 4, 1947 in Standish, MI. He is survived by his father Harold Cozart; wife Janet Cozart; sister Chris Cozart; brother Jim Cozart (Myra Olson); foster sister Cherie Struble (Ronald); foster brother Kenneth "Bud" DeLong (Diane), daughter Samantha Wilson (Eric); stepchildren Doug Clemens, Jill Clemens, Melanie Kolenko; and 6 grandchildren: Colin and Alison Wilson, Kayla Boonstra, Karsen, Hope and Griffin Kolenko; among many other family and friends who dearly loved him.
Ron was an admirable man who loved his family, was active in his church and volunteered around Kalamazoo. He loved the Tigers and all things baseball. He left a lot of wonderful memories and will be dearly missed. Family will greet visitors on Thursday, April 28 from 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave. A memorial service will be at First Assembly of God in Kalamazoo on Friday, April 29 at 1pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with medical and funeral expenses.
Private interment will be held at a later date at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
