June 17, 1929 — April 11, 2012

REDIKER, Roger D.
of Galesburg Roger, age 82, passed away April 11, 2012. He was born June 17, 1929 in Grand Rapids, MI, the second son of Joseph and Nellie Burlington Rediker. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1948, and was a lifelong resident of Galesburg. Roger is survived by his sister-in-law, Reba Rediker; two grand-nephews, David Rediker Jr. and Daniel Kim Rediker and their children, Alyssa, Daniel Jr. and Devin; and a grand-niece, Kristina Rediker, as well as his close friend of over forty years, Sharon Oisten and her family, including her grandchildren, who Roger regarded as his own; Kaitlyn, Nathan, and Megan Collins. He will be sorely missed by his faithful canine companion, Sassy. He was employed as an electrician with IBEW, retiring in 1991. He was a skilled electrician and could do almost anything he set his mind to. Roger was a very social person, was very involved for many years with PWP, and was a life member of the Shriners. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson, stopping only in the last few years. He enjoyed riding his Harley to Sturgis, South Dakota for the Harley get-togethers. He had many happy memories of hanging out at the Sunshine Café in Galesburg, eating and talking with his friends. No matter where he went, he always ran into someone he knew, as far away as Florida! He loved driving his kit-car in the Galesburg Day parades, and did so for many years with his "grand-children". Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Nellie Rediker; his older brother, Gordon Rediker; his nephew, David Rediker; and David's wife, Georgia Rediker. Honoring Roger's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 21, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, where friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
