BENZENBERG, Roger A.
Of Kalamazoo Roger passed away early Monday morning, September 10, 2012 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born February 11, 1928 in Kalamazoo, the son of Neil and Nell Benzenberg. Roger was a veteran of the United States Navy serving 2 years from 1946-1948. In 1948, he began work with The Upjohn Co., where he was employed for 42 years. He then worked 12 years for K.V.C.C. On June 17, 1954, Roger was united in marriage to the former Beverly Soule. He was a member of Green Meadow Baptist Church and a life member of Kalamazoo V.F.W. Post #827. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Beverly Benzenberg; their three children, Lynn Joe Martin of Paw Paw, Brian Rita Benzenberg of Kalamazoo and Brenda Benzenberg of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Michael Martin, Kelly Martin and Scott Benzenberg; and sister, Donna Yowler. Preceding him in death are his parents and one sister, Elayne Gilmartin. Roger's family would also like to thank the doctors and staff at Bronson Methodist Hospital MICU for the care and support during this difficult time. Funeral services for Roger will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street with Pastor Marvin R. Followell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be directed to the donor's favorite charity.
