Parchment, Michigan Rodney was born in Kalamazoo on February 27, 1959 to Ernest William Chalker and Janet Mary Moore Chalker. Rodney attended Gull Lake Area Community Schools from 1964 and graduated in 1977. Prior to being disabled in 1999 he was employed with Rushmore Auto Body, Industrial Graphics Services, Middle Earth Graphics all of Kalamazoo, and with Delano Services in Allegan. In 1986 he was joined in marriage to Elaine Ewing. Rodney welcomed Elaine's two children Cheryl and LeAnn into his life with an open heart and mind and raised them along with two additional children Charlie and Heather. Rodney was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother Janet Chalker VanTilburg. Rodney is survived by his children Cheryl, LeAnn, Charlie, and Heather, Grandchildren Jarret, Sierra, Destinee, and Sage. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday and Friday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to the Rodney Chalker Memorial Fund, C/O Fifth Third Bank, P.O. Box 301, Richland, MI 49083. www.langelands.com 343-1508
