Roberta was born July 15, 1929 in Mattawan, the daughter of Harold and Rhoda (Moyle) Farthing. She passed away April 3, 2024 at the age of 94. She attended Mattawan High School and graduated as valedictorian of her class in 1947. Roberta completed the 2-year Secretarial course at WMU and worked at Sutherland Paper Company over 8 years. After her children were grown, she worked as a secretary at the Upjohn Company, retiring in 1991. Her hobbies were gardening, knitting and family activities.
Preceding Roberta in death was her husband, Ralph Gotham; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Edna Farthing; and sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Robert McCully. Surviving are daughter, Carol (Steven) Erwin of Bath, MI; son, David Gotham of Kalamazoo; a niece and several nephews and their families.
Roberta was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Portage, MI.
