Robert Lancelot Whyle, III died Sunday April 10, 2022, in Centrica Rose Arbor Residence. He was born February 3, 1938, in Racine, WI son of Robert and Margaret (Ricchio) Whyle.
Robert "Bob" lived a long fulfilling life. He was an electrician and worked for Grand Trunk and Eaton in his younger years. He was also very successful in business. He helped frontier convenience stores and developed and owned several in the Galesburg/Augusta area. As a sportsman he loved the outdoors. He loved boating and skiing with the family. He trapped large turtles and was an avid fisherman. Bob loved to play cards with friends and family get togethers. The last two years of his life he worked out at the local Vicksburg gym daily with buddy "Ron". He was a good Dad and family man. He will be dearly missed by all.
On October 25, 1985, Robert married the former Lynn D. Senne who preceded him in death on April 16, 2018. Robert was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Peggy Bye and Pat Morgan; and grandson, Shawn Harrington. Robert is survived by his children, Robert L. Whyle IV, Carla Harrington, Deborah (Phillip) Waite, Julie Swan, and Stephen (Sarah) Buaserman; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Traister; brother-in-law, Chuck Bye; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert's family will receive guests on Monday April 18, 2022, from 11am to 1pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E. Centre Ave, Portage MI 49002. The funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 1pm with Pastor Jim Dyke officiating. Graveside service will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo at 2:15pm.
