WHITE, Robert Henry
Of Lawton, formerly of Portage
Robert was born January 14, 1936, in Lawrence, MI, the son of Charley and Mable Moreland White, and died October 5, 2011, in Lawton, MI. He was a lifelong area resident; and had received his BBA and MBA from Western Michigan University. Robert had served in the U.S. Army, and for over 50 years he operated White Tax & Accounting. He was a longtime member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and was also a member of TOPS. On November 7, 1959, he was united in marriage to Judith C. Sherman in Kalamazoo. Surviving are his wife, Judith C. White of Lawton; son, Steven R. Cheri White of Henniker, NH; daughter, Deborah A. Tim Marsh of Portage; and five grandchildren, Jonathan Marsh, Evan Marsh, Christopher Marsh, Kelly Marsh and Morgan White. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; by a brother, Charles White and a sister, Edna White. In accordance with Robert's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held 3:00 PM Friday, October 14th at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church 7028 Oakland Drive with interment in the church memorial garden. The family will gather and greet friends in the church fellowship hall after the service. Memorials in Robert's memory may be directed to the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Choir.
