Died Saturday afternoon November 19, 2016. Robert was born June 18, 1928 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Harry and Gertrude (Long) Talbot. Years ago, he served Honorably with the U.S. Air Force. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Spartan Foods for 20 years before retiring. Robert was also a member of St. Andrew Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters, Eleanor Clock and Margaret Tenney. On August 29, 1952, he was united in marriage to Gladys A. (Bell) Talbot who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Michael (Cathy) Talbot of Tupelo, MS, Karen Poggi of Detroit, and Melissa (Mark "Jake") Scott of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 2-4pm Friday at the chapel and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery Chapel. Memorials may be directed to St. Andrew Community Church or the charity of your choice.
