of Schoolcraft, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Heartland HealthCare in Three Rivers. Age 87 years. Robert was born on January 16, 1925 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late William Grant and Agnes Florida Lofquist Stoneburner. He served with the United States Marine Corp during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. He worked for the Sutherland Paper Mill Company now Georgia Pacific, retiring after 40 years of service. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #1527. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was married to Jacqueline Chaddock in Vicksburg on July 19, 1947; she survives him. Robert and Jacqueline recently celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary and enjoyed spending their winters in Florida from 1965 - 1989. Surviving are five children, Thomas James Lori Stoneburner of Long Island, NY, Beverly Anne Larry Phillips of Milwood, Barbara Lynn Donald Kahler of Schoolcraft, Laura Joan Hackenburg of Delton and William Robert Brenda Stoneburner of Portage; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Caro of Schoolcraft and Bernice Kiewiet of Flushing, MI. Robert was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diana Louise Stoneburner; a son-in-law, Gary Hackenburg; a brother, Donald Stoneburner; and two brothers-in-law, Victor Caro and George Kiewiet. A private family memorial service has taken place. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Memorials may be made to Heartland Activities Fund, attn: Nancy Yerrick, 517 Erie St., Three Rivers, MI 49093.
