Robert N. Shoals

SHOALS, Robert N. Portage Passed away Sunday, January 28, 2007. He was born on June 5, 1917 in Paterson, New Jersey the son of Frank H. and Sarah Salisbury Shoals and had been a Portage resident since 1967. Robert had worked as a sales representative for the Stein-Hall Company for 15 years, followed by 17 years of service with General Latex & Chemical Company before retiring. He served his country in the United States Air Force during WW II, in China, Burma and India. On March 11, 1955 he married the former Bernice Johnson, who survives. Also surviving are his sons, David J. Deborah Shoals of Menomonee Falls, WI and Robert F. Shoals of Portage, MI; 4 grandchildren, Scott Michael Shoals of Vicksburg, Holly Lynn Shoals of Houston, TX, Michael Andrew Shoals of Oshtemo and Jessica Lynn Shoals of Oshtemo; one sister, June Mc Guire in Stuart, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marjorie Jewett and Sarah Eaton; and 4 brothers, Franklin, Roger, Bill and Jack Shoals. In accordance with Robert?s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family committal at Fort Custer National Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice Care of Greater Southwest Michigan or the charity of one?s choice.
