SCHWARTZ, Robert D. Portage Mr. Schwartz passed away Saturday morning, September 8, 2007 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born September 21, 1931 in Neenah, Wisconsin, the son of the late Harry and Lucille Phelps Schwartz. Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a master welder, working for Brunswick Corp for 23 years and then for General Motors for 11 years, until his retirement in 1995. On August 28, 1992, he was united in marriage to Lois VanHaaften Heath, who preceded him in death on January 9, 2005. Surviving are his 7 children, Donna Schwartz Thomas Bailey of Montgomery, AL, Ronald Schwartz of Tallassee, AL, Cheryl Heath Randy VanDyke of Scotts, Susan Heath Bob Johnson of Clancy, MT, Deborah Heath Denny Johnson of Vicksburg, Patricia Schwartz Larry Velie of Hull, MA, and Dennis Denise Heath of Kalamazoo; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Roberta Schwartz James Walker of Wisconsin; and special friends, Al and Barb Strong of Kalamazoo . Funeral services for Mr. Schwartz will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday tomorrow at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, with Bob?s grandson, Jarrod Bailey, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Tuesday today at the funeral home and on Wednesday morning from 10 AM until the time of services. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
