Portage and South Haven Died Sunday afternoon, July 5, 2009 at his residence in Portage. Bob was born June 19, 1943 in Ludington, MI, the son of Harold and Elizabeth Taylor Schultz. He was a graduate of Ludington High School and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Bob then was employed as a licensed funeral director for Langeland Family Funeral Homes for several years. He served during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army at the Mortuary Operations Office in DaNang, Vietnam and later as an Operations Officer at the Quartermaster School in Ft. Lee, VA. Bob continued his education at Western Michigan University where he received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He also graduated from the National Commercial Lending School Graduate Program at the University of Oklahoma. Bob then served as Vice President in the Commercial Loan Department for Comerica Bank. He later was owner/operator of Schultz Manufacturing and most recently was Service Center Manager for NAP Tools in Three Rivers. Bob was a very active member of the Peace Lutheran Church in South Haven where he served on several committees, including the Church Council, Head of the Human Relations Committee and the Finance Committee. He was always interested in aviation and has held a Commercial Pilot's license for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents. On May 17, 2006, he was married to Carol J. Hoelscher, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter Katherine Ann Schultz; 3 step-children, Matt Lori Coleman, Alicia Coleman and Sara Matt Kennedy and their sons, Nolan and Mason; a sister Linda Keith Kessler; nieces and nephews, Lori Kessler, Holly John Barbour, Erik Kessler and Kara Jeff Pruitt. The family will receive friends on Tuesday today from 4:30-7:30 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street and Wednesday from 11:30AM-12:30PM at Peace Lutheran Church 06321 Blue Star Memorial Highway, South Haven where service to celebrate Bob's life will be held 12:30 PM Wednesday July 8 with the Rev. Robert J. Linstrom officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held 11:30 AM Thursday in Ft. Custer National Cemetery please meet at cemetery entrance.
