PROUGH, Robert Earl
of Kalamazoo Passed away November 20, 2011 in Kalamazoo. He was born July 27, 1925 in Kalamazoo to the late Earl and Dena Santman Prough. He was united in marriage to Joyce Rother on September 2, 1947 for a loving 64 years together. Joyce survives. Robert served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1944 until he was honorably discharged in 1946. He retired from The Upjohn Company as the department head of the pipe shop after 38 years of service. Bob enjoyed flying, golf, travelling, hunting, working with his hands and generally enjoying life. Bob especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Also surviving Robert are his children, Bob Deby Prough of Stephenville, TX, Terri Randy Campbell of Richland, John Dena Prough of Gun Lake and Mike Melissa Prough of Cooper; 7 grandchildren, Amberly, Ryan, Jackie, Aaron, Lindsay, Lisa and Ross; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her dad in death was daughter, Ginger Prough, in 1962. Family will greet friends Friday, November 25th from 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. No services are scheduled. Memorials in Robert's name may be directed to the American Lung Association or Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
