Robert C. Obreiter

OBREITER, Robert Of Kalamazoo Passed away Friday afternoon, May 6, 2011 at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Bob was born October 24, 1944 in Kalamazoo the son of Donald and Jean Root Obreiter. He was a veteran and served with honor in the U.S. Navy. Bob was a skilled furniture and cabinet maker. He enjoyed reading about the Civil War and was an avid collector of American Indian relics. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. On September 1, 1984, Bob was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Gloria Ganger, who survives. He is also survived by his mother, Jean Obreiter. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Donald; and his brothers, Richard and Larry. Friends may meet the family on Monday from 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday at Second Reformed Church, 2323 Stadium Dr., with Rev. Kevin Hart officiating.
