Robert L. McElvain

McELVAIN, ROBERT L. Battle Creek Mr. McElvain passed away Wednesday evening, November 29, 2006 at his home with his family by his side. He was born March 30, 1948 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Robert S. and Bessie Brown McElvain. Bob was employed by Calhoun County for 33 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. On May 20, 1967, he was united in marriage to Glenda Lathrop, who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Sheina McElvain of Battle Creek, Robert T. McElvain of Battle Creek, and Ronda Chad Sanders McElvain of Lafayette, LA; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Alice Art Golden of Comstock; father and mother-in-law, John and Alice Lathrop of Richland; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. McElvain will be at 2 PM on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple Street, with Rev. Donald Barnes, of Galesburg Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Gilson Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
