MATTISON, Robert L.
Kalamazoo Robert passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the age of 90. He was born March 21, 1925 in Kalamazoo to the late Frank and Cecile Grice Mattison. Robert was united in marriage to Helen De Young on October 11, 1947; she preceded him in death on July 7, 2005. Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until honorably discharged in 1946. He was a longtime member of Milwood United Methodist Church. Robert worked at The Upjohn Co. for 35 years retiring in 1983 as a Boileroom Supervisor. Robert is survived by his children, Daniel Jackie Mattison and Gary Julie Mattison; daughter-in-law, Pamela Mattison; 6 grandchildren, Laura, Emily and Kevin Megan Mattison, Jenna, Michael and Mallory Mattison; 1 great grandson, Jacob Lyle Mattison; and nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Mattison; and sister, Marjorie Maas. The family will greet friends Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 10-11:00am at Milwood United Methodist Church, 3919 Portage St., Kalamazoo, MI 49001, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00am. Rev. Heather Molner will officiate. A private burial will be at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street.
