SMITH, Mr. Robert M.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Wednesday afternoon May 27, 2009. Robert was born February 7, 1928 in Cook County, Illinois a son of Arthur and Mary Thielen Smith. Years ago, he served honorably with the U.S. Army. Robert had been a Kalamazoo area resident for 47 years and was employed with Consumer Power for 39 years, retiring in 1988. He was preceded in death by his parents. On April 7, 1951, he was united in marriage to Julia A. Wright Smith who survives. Also surviving, 2 daughters, Carol George Watral of Deltona, FL and Dorothy Robert Watson of Kalamazoo. Services will be held 11 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to an Animal Rescue Program of your choice.
