Passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at The Cedars in Leo, Indiana. Born in Miami County, IN, Robert was a manager of Local Finance. He owned a debt management business, and was a loan officer for a local bank before working with Upjohn Pharmaceutical for 10 years in the electrical maintenance department, retiring in 1987. Robert was a World War II Veteran serving in the Aleutian Islands from 1942-1945. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, puzzles, playing, watching, and umpiring softball. He also enjoyed watching basketball games. He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by parents Roy Earl and Dessie Keim, his first wife, Alice Keim, and second wife, Anna Keim, sons, William Keim and Gary Keim, sisters, Lois Shadel, Dorothea June Mullins, and brother, Ronald Lee Keim. Surviving are his son, Merrill Carolyn Keim of Grabill, IN, Trudy Art Skiver of Kalamazoo, son, Mark Wanda Keim of Plainwell; 2 daughters-in-law, Merry & Barb Keim; 13 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brother Lemoine Dorothy Keim of Syracuse, IN.Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway with Pastor Richard Forsman officiating. Interment will follow at Comstock Cemetery with full military honors by the Comstock V.F.W. Post #6252 and the U.S. Army. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
