Died peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends, on June 7, 2010. Bob was born in Wolf Lake, IN, to James Mack Keckler and Grace Ellen Hartshorn Keckler. He graduated from Oakland University with a degree in Studio Art. He was a longtime community leader in the City of Parchment, having served on the Downtown Development Authority, the Parchment Schools Foundation Board and the Parchment Rotary Club. For over twenty years, Bob managed the Parchment IGA/Ben Franklin store. In recent years, he ran The Frame Station frame shop and art gallery. Bob is survived by his wife, Kathleen Dykzeul Keckler; their three children, Catherine Keckler Dave Dandel of Seattle, WA, Liza Keckler Mike Min of Seattle, WA, and James Keckler Teresa of Long Beach, CA; his brothers and sister, James A. Shari Wiltse Keckler, Jeanne Keckler, and John Erica Keckler; in addition to his many grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his sister, Karen Keckler and mother, Ellen Keckler. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 11:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo. Memorials in his name may be directed to the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Student Scholarship Fund or Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
