Died July 14, 2017. Robert was born December 9, 1933 in Glendale, Michigan. During Korean War he served with the U.S. Navy. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1947 and was employed with General Motors for 23 years, retiring in 1990. He was preceded in death by his first wife Faye Butler; second wife Marjorie, and son Robert Jr.; and brothers Wilbur and Charles, and sister, Loretta Crummell. He was married to Natalie "Pat" Doolittle on April 9, 2009. Surviving are children Michael Johnson and daughter Carleen (Ron) Stickler; niece, Yvonne (John) Kiel; step-children Alan (Martha) Ruggles of Mattawan; Michael Ruggles of California; Linda Hayworth of Gobles; Connie (Jim) Zakana of Madison, Wisconsin; and Susan Rose of Ann Arbor; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held in Fort Custer National Cemetery with military honors. There will be no visitation.
