Died Tuesday morning January 23, 2018. Robert was born November 9, 1942 in Allegan, Michigan a son of Lewis and Virginia (Harmsen) Hutchins. During the Vietnam War, he served with the U.S. Air Force. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with Arvco Container for several years before retiring. Robert was also a member of West Side Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joanne K. Hutchins on September 3, 2013; a brother, Bill Musgrove; and a sister-in-law, Rosie Musgrove. He is survived by 3 children, Joy Drwal of Elgin, IL, Toni (Rich) Ford of Sodus, MI, and John (Janet Green) Card of Naples, FL; 6 grandchildren, Chad (Keely Davis) Cunningham, Josh (Devan Whittaker) Cunningham, Brooke (Ron) DuBock, Katie Lynne (Kevin Schoch) Card, and Thorne and Daylie Drwal; 3 great-grandchildren, Madison and Austin DuBock, and Lincoln Cunningham; 4 siblings, George (Charlene) Hutchins of Peru, IN, Vivian (Sis) Sleeman, of Santa Barbara, CA, Mary (John) DeVries of Jenison, MI, and Annette (Carl) Hall of Allegan, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 12 noon Tuesday, January 30th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to the West Side Church of Christ.
