HERRINGTON, Robert "Jack"
Of Mattawan Passed away Monday afternoon, October 3, 2011. Jack was born May 12, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of the late Lee Roy and Eleanor Bowie Herrington. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1991, Jack spent 41 years working in various capacities with the Emerson Electric Company, retiring as plant manager. On July 22, 1946 he was united in marriage to his loving wife of 65 years, the former Gayle Pierce, who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Rick Herrington, William Roy Herrington, Howard and Toni Herrington; 6 grandchildren, Chad, Melinda, Andrew, Noah, Emily, and Sarah; 2 great-grandchildren, Megan and Payton; 2 brothers, Howard Herrington, and William and Mary Herrington; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. www.langelands.com
