Robert A Flegal, Sr

FLEGAL, Robert A., Sr. Kalamazoo Mr. Flegal passed away Tuesday morning, May 1, 2007. He was born June 6, 1912, one of seven children to Fred and Alta Allen Flegal. Bob was employed by Upjohn Co. for 28 years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church, and an over 50 member of the F. & A.M. Kalamazoo-Anchor Lodge #87 now #22. On May 25, 1940, he was united in marriage to Martha Carlisle in Kalamazoo, who preceded him in death on October 15, 2000. Also preceding him in death are his parents; three sisters, Catherine Stump, Margaret Flegal, and E. Allean Flegal; and three brothers, Howard, F. Manley and E. Howard Flegal. Surviving are three children, Serena Jim Sova of The Villages, Florida, Carlisle Mary Jo Flegal of Kalamazoo, and Robert Jr. Elaine Flegal of Kalamazoo; six grandchildren, Michelle Lamb, Jessica Sova, Jade Weessies, Erin Moon, Robert Flegal III, and Megan Flegal; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services for Mr. Flegal will be at 10:00 AM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 7:30 PM.
