DEZWARTE, ROBERT P.
Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Friendship Village in Kalamazoo. Robert Bob was born November 10, 1916 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Peter and Wilmina VanEck DeZwarte. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and then attended Western State Teachers College WMU. He married Frances McQueeney, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, October 5, 1937. He was preceded in death by Frances and a daughter, Carole. Surviving are daughter, Marcia of Novato, CA and son, Mark Linda Boeschenstein of Jackson, MI and two grandchildren: Carol DeZwarte of Falls Church, VA and Phillip DeZwarte of Kalamazoo. Bob was employed as a steel rule die maker at Sutherland Paper Co. After his early retirement, he and Frances enjoyed traveling together. He was a member of First Congregational Church, where he sang in the choir for many years. He was a lifelong devotee of classical music, attending the Kalamazoo Symphony and other area concerts.
