Kalamazoo Passed away Friday, October 12, 2012. Robert was born May 25, 1932 in Kalamazoo the son of John and Johanna VanderSalm Smith and was a life long resident of the area. For over 25 years, he was a sales manager for the Church Mutual Insurance Company. He is survived by his wife, Victoria; his children, Risa, Paul, Sydney and Dalee; 9 grandchildren; his brother, Don; a nephew, Kenneth. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Grace Ann Sprague. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM in the Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo, with Pastor Mike Tupper officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
