Kalamazoo Loving father, grandfather and brother, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 22, 2007. He was born November 29, 1921 in Plainwell, the son of Howard and Anna Engel Myers, was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo and had attended the Netherlands Reformed Congregation. Bob graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in January of 1940 and had served his country during WW II in the United States Army. He was a shop superintendent for Hammond Machinery Builders and retired after more than 40 years of service. On March 19, 1947, he married the former Nellie Yzenbaard, who preceded him in death on May 16, 2006. He was also preceded by his parents; a brother, Alfred H. Myers; and a son-in-law, Dr. David Hickok. Bob is survived by his daughters, Marlene Hickok of Portage and Marcia Edward De Vries of Saginaw; four grandchildren, Kathryn Lynne Hickok, Andrew Myers Hickok, Matthew Robert De Vries and Aaron Edward De Vries; his sister, Esther Harold Bogard of Portage; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry Johanna Yzenbaard of Kalamazoo, Dena Gerard Meeuwse of Kalamazoo and Sinnie Yzenbaard of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Netherlands Reformed Congregation, 108 Pratt Rd. with Rev. J. Zippro officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, Borgess VNA or the charity of one?s choice. www.langelands.com 343-1508
