CHASE, Robert E.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Tuesday evening, December 4, 2012. Bob was born February 3, 1922 in Glendale, MI the son of Edwin and Hattie Cleveland Chase. He was a veteran serving during World War II in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years with Michigan Bell as a telephone installer. Bob was an active member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church doing various volunteer activities; which included several years with Meals on Wheels. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing. On September 19, 1943 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Florence Burris, who preceded him in death on July 3, 1993. He is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara Tom Demilio and Lee Chase all of Hilton Head, SC; grandson, Robert Colleen Demilio; 2 brothers, Donald Chase, Lester Venita Chase; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation and a private burial will be held in Glendale Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 3:00 Saturday, December 8, at the Sunnyside United Methodist Church, 2800 Gull Rd. Memorials may be directed to the Sunnyside United Methodist Church, or the charity of your choice. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick.
