Robert A. Baumgartner

BAUMGARTNER, Mr. Robert A. Kalamazoo, MI Died Friday afternoon March 30, 2007. Robert was born December 10, 1934 in New Rochelle, New York a son of Alfred and Frieda Fuhrer Baumgartner. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1966, coming from Detroit. He was employed with General Motors for 40 years, retiring in 1996. He was also a member of the Portage Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents. On December 28, 1968, he was united in marriage to Nancy A. Byrd Baumgartner who survives. Also surviving, children, Kimberly Lynn Baumgartner, Kurt Eric Baumgartner, and Kerry Lynn Baumgartner all of Kalamazoo, and Kenneth Amy Dark of Portage; a brother, Herbert Baumgartner of Las Vegas, NV; and a cousin. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Thursday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. There will be no visitation. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Portage Moose Lodge or the St. Jude?s Children?s Research Hospital.
