Lincoln, Rita Mae
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the age of 90. Rita was born in Fennville, MI on March 12, 1923, the daughter of the late Clarence and Hattie Koehler Erlewein. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo. Rita enjoyed traveling, knitting, bowling, golfing, and painting with pastels and oils. She was a great baker and enjoyed making homemade pies and rolls for family and friends. On July 19, 1947 Rita was united in marriage to Frank H. Lincoln Jr. who preceded her in death on March 8, 2006. Together, Frank and Rita traveled to many countries, including Australia, New Zealand, China and India. Rita is survived by her children, Deborah John Jr. Sinclair of Kalamazoo and Thomas Jennifer Lincoln of Seattle, WA; three granddaughters, Sarah and Rebecca Sinclair and Vanessa Lincoln; one sister, Perdita Reynolds of Madison Heights, MI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Erlewein and her sister, Lois Aldrich. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 14, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo, 212 S. Park St., with Rev. Douglas Vernon officiating.
