Of Kalamazoo Died June 1, 2010 at his residence. Ricky was born November 21, 1958 in Paw Paw, MI, a son of Lawrence and Barbara Bryant Nichols and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. He was formerly employed at Georgia Pacific Paper Company. Ricky served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps. Ricky accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized on May 25, 2003. He was a member of the Church of God in Decatur, MI. Ricky was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Lenny Nichols, Clarence Adams and James Nichols. Surviving are brothers and sisters, Marjorie, Lawrence Jr. and Mercy Nichols, Bruce, Princess Joy, Gregory and Michael Adams, Nikki Cutwright and Candy Nichols-Love; many nieces and nephews; 2 surviving uncles, Paul and Dale Bryant and 3 aunts, Carol Ivans, Miriam Nichols and Ernestine Fraizer. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 10 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Friends may meet the family beginning at 9 am on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 12 Noon at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with military honors by the Ft. Custer Honor Guard and the U.S. Marine Corps. Contributions to help with funeral expenses may be made to Bruce Adams.
