Portage, MI Died Saturday afternoon July 30, 2011 at his residence. Ricky was born August 1, 1953 in Warsaw, Indiana a son of Gerald and Mary Gaerte Dangler. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1990, formerly of Delton. Ricky was employed with Parker Hydraulic Systems Divisionfor 31 years, retiring in 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents. On July 23, 1976, he was united in marriage to Donna L. VanAuken Dangler who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Jeffrey Dangler of Indiana, Lesley Kevin Martin of Kendallville, IN, and Travis Teressa Taplin of Chicago, IL; 9 grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Hap Boulette of Schoolcraft; 3 brothers, Jimmie Brenda Dangler of Constantine, Barry Hal Thomas Dangler of Florida, and Jimmie Andy Della-Coletta Kneller of North Carolina; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 1 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date.
