YUCKER, Richard Lee
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday morning, March 13, 2011. Dick was born January 14, 1928 in Detroit the son of Charles and Marion Singer Yucker. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a ticket agent with Lake Central and North Central Airlines; worked with Kalamazoo Stationary; and retired from the Post Office as a mail carrier. Dick enjoyed bowling and was instrumental in starting the Kalamazoo Postal Golf League in which he played in for over 25 years. On August 31, 1951 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Marlene Evans, who survives. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Stacie Yucker, Curtis Shazaia Yucker, and Richard A. Yucker; 3 great-grandchildren, Caira, Caleb, and Caleigh; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Yucker; a brother, Robert Yucker; and several nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Yucker; step-mother, Elllamay Yucker; and a brother, Karl Yucker. Services will be held 1:00 o'clock Friday at Haven Reformed Church, 5350 N. Sprinkle with Pastor Keith Lohman officiating. Interment will follow in East Cooper Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
