Richard Norman Wesseling

Richard N. Wesseling, age 76 of Schoolcraft, peacefully walked into the arms of Jesus on November 6, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born April 16, 1945, in Kalamazoo, the son of Milo and Hilda (Sills) Wesseling. He was a 1963 graduate of Loy Norrix High School. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was a salesman and over the years had sold insurance, appliances, and cars, retiring from Maple Hill Auto Group. On September 16, 1967, Richard married his high school sweetheart, Louise VanSweden, and they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. They were members of West Oshtemo Baptist Church. Richard is survived by his wife, Louise; their children: Kristine (Jeffrey) Sieber, Richard Wesseling, and Kimberly (Christopher) Fazio; his brother Tom Wesseling; and his favorite four-legged friend, Buddy. He is also survived by his dear lifelong friends: Leo and Maribah Stevenson, Paul Vickery, and Pete and Dee Dyksterhouse, who shared weekly dinners with Richard and Louise. Friends may visit with his family on Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Hill and Pastor Pete Dyksterhouse officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may also visit with his family an hour prior to the service on Friday.
