Galesburg, MI Richard L. Uithoven died January 18, 2008, in Kalalamzoo, MI. Richard was born June 12, 1922, in Kalamazoo, MI a son of Fred and Ruth L. Parent Uithoven and had been a life long area resident. He served in the US Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1946. Richard retired from Georgia Pacific on September 1, 1984. He had a life long love for airplanes, both models and private planes. On May 29, 1968, he was united in marriage with the former Betty Wilson, who survives. Also surviving are: his children, Ruth Mitchell Lakes of Carlisle, OH, Richard Judy Uithoven, Jr., of Flint, TX, Russell Jill Uithoven of Huntsville, AL and Philip Leigh Uithoven of Spotsylvania, VA; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a brother Jack Uithoven of Kalamazoo. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Thursday morning at Galesburg United Methodist Church, 111 W. Battle Creek St., with the Rev. John Moore, officiating. Private interment will follow in Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W.
