SMITH, Richard O. ?Ricky? of Portage Passed away Thursday, September 20, 2007 at his home. Richard was born December 4, 1974 in Battle Creek, MI, to Owen R. and Laura Hull Smith, Owen and Laura Coville, survives. Ricky was best known for his caring of others and would sacrifice about anything to help another person. He was a big University of Michigan fan and he loved to go out bike riding. ?He is dearly loved and will be forever missed.? Surviving Ricky are; step-mother, Lisa Smith; step-father, Terry Annis; brothers, Brandon Coville, Travis Smith, Marty Smith and Cory Birmingham; grandmother, Norma Hull; aunts, Darlene Basler and Leisha Hull; uncle, Gregory Hull; several aunts, uncles and cousins in both Tennessee and Michigan; and his special mentor, Barbara Posey. Visitation will be Monday, the 24th, from 1 ? 2:00PM, one hour prior to services, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., Portage. Funeral services will take place at 2:00PM, Pastor Brian Stone, officiating. Memorial donations may be directed, in Richard?s name, to the American Diabetes Association.
