HENNING, Mr. Richard A.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Saturday morning March 1, 2008 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Richard was born May 7, 1929 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Russell and Dott Stauffer Henning. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Peter Eckrich & Sons. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching his Red Wings, Cubbies, etc. He had volunteered for many years with the Meals on Wheels Program. He genuinely cared for people and was a friend for life to those in need. He knew and loved the Lord, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, William. He is survived by 2 daughters, Sandra Paul Bryant of Kalamazoo and Carol Harold Bartholomew of Portage; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois V. Winn of Kalamazoo; a nephew; Ivan Mary Winn of Climax, nieces, Gail Jim Overton of Kalamazoo; Reva Dale Hansen, Virginia Ted Barga and Marilyn John Fielding, CA; Doris Dick Weaver, NM, as well as numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held at 5 o'clock Monday evening at the First Free Will Baptist Church, 630 Moline St., Comstock, MI with Pastor John W. Vick officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Rose Arbor Hospice Program. Richard's family would like to thank Director's Hall Assisted Living, his special nurse "Michelle" and staff for the wonderful care they provided to him. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Gilbert Olivares and Advanced Cardiology staff for many years of compassionate care, and the loving staff at Rose Arbor Hospice. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
