Grand Rapids, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008 in Grand Rapids. Richard was born November 28, 1926 in Kalamazoo, the son of Irving and Eullalia Hayden Goodeve and had been a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Kalamazoo and a life member of the VFW. Richard had worked for the NY Central and Santa Fe Railroads and then for KVP Sutherland Paper Georgia-Pacific for over 40 years. During WW II he served his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Monte Goodeve; a sister, Joyce Crespo; and 2 brothers, Jack and Tom Goodeve. He is survived by his children, Sharlene Davault of Kalamazoo and Richard C. Goodeve, II of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has take place and committal services will be held on Friday, June 27 at 10:00 AM at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. No visitation is planned.
