GLIDDEN, RICHARD "DICK"
of Richland, MI
Richard "Dick" Glidden peacefully went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2021 at the young age of 92 in Kalamazoo, MI.
Dick served his country in the United States Air Force, worked with Harding's Friendly Markets, and Spartan Stores and was an avid golfer and a lover of life! He was an active member of the Shriners in which he served as a clown for many years. He lived his entire life in Kalamazoo County and wintered in Cape Canaveral, FL at his condo near Cocoa Beach. Dick loved the sunshine and his family immensely.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Sally (Morell) Glidden who passed in January of 2001 and his companion of 20- years Peggy DeMink who passed December of 2020.
Dick is survived by his son Richard (Jan) Glidden of Hickory Corners, daughters: Cindy (John) Roth of Tennessee, and Linda (Eric) Hewitt of Allegan. Grandchildren: Adam (Danielle) Glidden of Kansas, Jenny (Scott) Sellers of Tennessee, Arin (Brett) Riggins of Portage, Hannah (Brett) Mich of Illinois, Jamie (Jeff) Koehler of Wisconsin, Josh (Hannah) Hewitt of Dorr, and Seith (Amanda) Hewitt of Allegan. Great grandchildren: Nathaniel, Matthew, Isaac, Zach, Cameron, Olivia, Hank, Everett, Ali, Elora, and Eli; two sisters: Nancy (Ralph) Pike of Richland and Janet Slate of Kalamazoo; nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid concerns there will be private family visitation and memorial service. A private family graveside service with full military honors will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
