DOCSA, Richard P.
of Kalamazoo Passed away March 23, 2009 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born March 15, 1936 in Kalamazoo, to Paul and Ruby Parker Docsa. Richard was united in marriage on September 6, 1975, to the former Ryann Smith who survives. Richard retired from Conrail Railroad as a conductor/brakeman, where he was employed for over 37 years. He enjoyed many years of fishing with his friend Dale Boris and he enjoyed going to the Borgess Health and Fitness Center. He leaves a lifetime friend, Tom Jackson of Plainwell. Also surviving Richard are, his children, Steven Janeen Docsa of Kalamazoo, Eric Geri Docsa of Blevins, KY, and Jennifer Asim Khan Docsa of Sterling Heights; mother, Ruby Drydyk; grandchildren, Scott, Sara, William, Eric and Chandra; sisters, Edith Pontius, Charlene Ralph Dykehouse and Nancy Terry Caro; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Richard in death were a, grandson, Jeremy; and his father. No visitation is scheduled. A Memorial service will take place at Parchment United Methodist Church, 225 Glendale, Parchment, MI, on Friday, March 27th at 1:00PM. Assisting in the arrangements was the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either the National Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Association. Please see
