CARL, Mr. Richard B.
Kalamazoo, MI Passed on to be with the Lord on October 31, 2010. He was born in Delton, Michigan on August 19, 1930 and graduated from Hastings High School in 1949. He was employed at Hastings Piston Ring and then moved to Kalamazoo when General Motors built there. Dick was a very talented man with many interest; primarily restoring cars and metal art work under the name of "Scraptures by Carl". He won awards and sold everything he made. He loved the older original cars; the latest being a 1930 Model A Truck and a 1972 MGB Convertible. He was a member of the Antique Restorers and the Grape Country Model A Club. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois Campbell Carl; 3 children, Regina Carl of North Carolina, Kelli Rick Presley of Lawton, and Rick Tani Carl of Paw Paw; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Keith Mackinder, and a granddaughter, Crystal. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a "Celebration of Richard's life" Saturday, November 6th from 1-4pm at the home of his son, Rick Carl, 53535 30th St., Paw Paw. In lieu of flowers, due to his love of animals, memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Humane Society. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
