DOLFIN, Rev. Dr. Frederic
Of Kalamazoo After a long and courageous journey, he went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 29, 2007. Frederic was born March 9, 1920 in Hudsonville, Michigan, the son of Reverend Cornelius and Rena Weemhof Dolfin. For many years Rev. Dolfin served as a minister with the Reformed Church of America, serving churches in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan. On August 25, 1943, he was united in marriage to the former Viola Hopeman who survives. Also surviving are his children, Donna Koetje of Plymouth, MI, Mark Dolfin of Boulder, CO, Lois Bill Bass of Sheridan, WY, and Mary Bob DeHaan of Kalamazoo; a daughter-in-law, Sue Dolfin of Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, David Audrey Dolfin of Hingham, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Dolfin, by his son, Jay Dolfin and a son-in-law, Gerald Koetje. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. A private family graveside service will be held in Grand Prairie Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM Monday December 3rd at Third Reformed Church 2345 North 10th Street with Rev. Dr. Dann Stouten officiating. Memorials in Rev. Dolfin?s memory may be directed to Western Theological Seminary Scholarship Fund or Third Reformed Church Community Center.
