Rebecca "Becky" E. Walden

WALDEN, Rebecca E. "Becky" Becky went to be with our Lord and Savior, November 13, 2014 at age 55, after a 15 month battle with cancer. Becky was born October 15, 1959 in Crawfordsville, IN to Gail and Martha Harold Krise. She was united in marriage to Richard "Rick" Walden on October 1, 1977, for 37 loving years together. Becky was a devoted Christ follower and member of the Portage Free Methodist Church. She was a compassionate caregiver to members of the Schoolcraft community; to patients, families, and fellow nurses; and a motherly influence for many. Even during her battle with cancer, her faith and hope in the Lord was an encouragement to all. Becky is survived by her husband, Rick Walden; son, Patrick DayeAnn Walden; mother, Martha; mother-in-law, Ruth; brother, Doug Patty Krise; 1 nephew and 7 nieces; and a soon expected grandchild. She is preceded in death by her father, Gail; and father-in-law, Wendell. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, November 18th, 11:00 o'clock at the Portage Free Methodist Church, 1715 West Centre Ave., Portage, MI 49024, where the family will greet friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Rev. R. Adam Davidson will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service in the fellowship room. Arrangements by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Portage Free Methodist Church.
