Rebecca L. Roe

ROE, Rebecca Lorne Kalamazoo Rebecca passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. She was born February 13, 1969 in Horsham, England, the daughter of Keith and Judith Roe. Rebecca attended the British School of Brussels, Belgium, Plainwell Middle and High Schools and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Michigan State University. Whilst at MSU Rebecca reported for The State News and credited her university for instilling in her the need for accuracy, honesty and ethics in journalism. Above all, Rebecca wanted to be a compassionate journalist. During her tenure as Editor of the West Michigan Senior Times the paper won several national awards. She continued to write for the paper and its many readers can attest to her ability to reach out to others, to listen, to understand, to care. Those qualities were in evidence in her third and final battle with cancer - ask any of the superb Bronson nursing staff who cared for Rebecca in her last weeks.
