HALLAM, Raymond C.
Richland Raymond died early Friday morning, July 9, 2010, in Kalamazoo. He was born August 19, 1925, in Gobles, MI, a son of Thomas and Emma Youderian Hallam. During World War II, Raymond served in the US Navy in the South Pacific. He retired from James River where he worked as a carpenter for over 25 years. Raymond also served as a volunteer firefighter for Richland Township. In his free time Raymond enjoyed working in his yard, woodworking, hunting, fishing and travelling. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marilyn and two brothers, Bob and Elmer. Another brother, Harold lives in Florida On July 15, 1946, Raymond was united in marriage with the former Josephine B. Willin, who survives. Also surviving are: a son, Raymond C. Gay Hallam, Jr. of Richland; two daughters, Patsy Jim Nord of Parchment and Sheryl David Dent of Chelsea; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Private services and burial will be held at a later date.
