DeHOLLANDER, Raymond A.
Kalamazoo Ray, a loving husband and father, passed away Friday, August 17, 2007. He was born December 22, 1929 in Kalamazoo, the sixth of seven children to Abram and Esther Wilkinson DeHollander. Ray was a combat veteran of the United States Army?s Third Infantry serving the Korean War. After returning from the war, he enjoyed a long and productive career as a journeyman plumber for Local 357 performing instrumentation at Palisades and other nuclear power plants. On June 19, 1954, Ray was united in marriage to Maudie Irvine at Gull Lake. He leaves his loving wife, Maudie and his devoted daughter, Susan DeHollander to mourn him. He also leaves his brother, Harold Julie DeHollander; several nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and former co-workers. Preceding him in death are two sons, Timothy DeHollander in 1967 and Dennis DeHollander in 1981; his parents; three brothers, Bill, Bob, and Jacob DeHollander; and two sisters, Ruth Bolyen and Betty Hooper. He will be sorely missed by his family and his many friends and acquaintances. Memorial services for Mr. DeHollander will be at 11:00 AM on Monday tomorrow at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway, with Pastor O?Ryan Rickard of Coloma United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may visit with family on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of services. A private interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Richland. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center or Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
