Ray L. Scharlach

Ray L. Scharlach, 84, formerly of Remington, IN and Lake Wales, FL, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Portage, Michigan, where he had resided for the past two years. Ray was born December 3, 1927, the son of Jesse and Crystal Barbour Scharlach. He worked many years in the construction business until his retirement. Surviving are three children, Terry Scharlach of Nicaragua, Connie Scharlach of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Patti Tom King of Portage, MI; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death 9 months ago by his loving wife, Edith "Carolyn" Scharlach. He was also preceded in death by his brother Lynn Scharlach of Goodland, IN. Honoring Ray's wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will take place at a later date. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
