PRESTON, Ray A., Sr.
Portage, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008. Ray was born July 2, 1946 in Kalamazoo, the son of Harry and Elsie Sergeant Preston and was a resident of the Kalamazoo area for many years. He served his country in the US Army from 1963 to 1967 and had been assigned to Viet Nam. Ray was employed in auto sales, was an avid Tiger fan and collected baseball cards. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mae Henderson. His survivors include his children, Ray Alvin Preston, Jr., and Shawn Jennifer Preston all of Parchment; a grandson, Rhyan Preston; four brothers, Jim Bev Preston, William Sue Preston, John Bonnie Preston and his twin brother, Roy Preston; two sisters, Betty Morris and Johanna Thompson; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway, with Pastor John Vick officiating.
