Randolph Jay Sampson passed away at MediLodge of Portage in Portage, MI on Thursday July 16, 2020, he was 69 years old. Randy was born October 14, 1950 to Melvin Jay Sampson and Mary Lee Sampson in Mishawaka Indiana.

Randy enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, and seeing his grandchildren. He was known as somewhat of a community cook amongst the other residence of the Silver Star apartments in Battle Creek where he lived for the past 7 years until becoming ill. He enjoyed traveling to California to visit old lifelong friends and reminiscing of old times. Randy's favorite time of year was 4th of July where almost every year he would set off a traditional homemade firework. During his life Randy did odd jobs but none so important as care giver to his terminally ill wife for nearly 15 years.

Randolph's parents Melvin and Mary Sampson along with his wife Lori Jo Sampson and brothers Tom and Jim Sampson preceded Randy in death. Randy's survived by his brother Tim Sampson and his wife Kelly; sons: Shawn Sampson and his wife Jessica, Matthew Sampson and his wife Kali, and Scott Sampson and his wife Ashley. Along with seven grandchildren: Hayden, Chloe, Kylee, Connor, Arlo, Carson, and Madalynn.

Graveside Services with full military honors will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta MI on Thursday July 23rd 2020. Memorials in Randy's memory may be directed to Fort Custer National Cemetery Honor Guard. The family wishes to thank everyone for their kind words of support and prayers.
