CRAMER, Ralph J.
Kalamazoo Ralph passed away Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2008 at his home. He was born October 4, 1925 in Kalamazoo, 1 of 5 children to Jacob and Maude Izenbaard Cramer. Ralph was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He worked as a carpenter and recently received his 50 year membership to the Kalamazoo Carpenters Union Local #525. He was a longtime volunteer at numerous nursing homes in both Arizona and Michigan. He enjoyed singing and while living in Arizona, he created a scale model of their local community. On October 24, 1947, he was united in marriage to Joyce Peacock in Alamo, who survives. Also surviving their 3 children, Ralph Linda Cramer of Three Rivers, Sharon Carl Buck of Richland, and Nancy Cramer of Vancouver, WA; 7 grandchildren; Jason Cramer, Tara Mark McFeely, James Ragan, Jeffrey Amy Ragan, Richard Ragan, Nathan Langstrom and David Langstrom; 4 great-grandchildren, Remington, Tyler, Mason, and Caden; 1 sister, Esther Richard Post of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; 2 brothers, Harold and John Cramer; and 1 sister, Leone Sladek. Memorial services for Ralph will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Comstock Christian Reformed Church, 5300 Comstock Ave., with Rev. Rodger J. Buining officiating. Private interment will be in Comstock Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 PM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway.
