Prudence E. ?Prudie? of Kalamazoo Went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Prudie was born November 7, 1927 in Cooper Township, the daughter of Leon and Ruth Putman Keeler and has been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. She was a member of the Fourth Reformed Church and the Kalamazoo Pastel Society. Prudie was very artistic and was known for her pastel paintings. Prudie loved her heavenly Father and her family. On January 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Clarence H. Steenholdt who preceded her in death on December 23, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Roxanna Watson and two brothers, David and Joe Keeler. Surviving are her children, Jeffrey Barbara Steenholdt, Jonathan Wendie Steenholdt, Jacob Darlene Steenholdt, Rebecca Bryan, Joel Deborah Steenholdt, Betsey Daniel Brandt; a son-in-law, Gary Watson; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lindsay Keeler; a sister-in-law, Rosetta Keeler and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday today from 5-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Private family graveside services will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday at the Fourth Reformed Church 6339 Atlantic Dr. with Rev. James VanderRoest officiating. Those wishing to make a lasting gift in Prudie?s name are asked to remember the Fourth Reformed Church or Alternatives of Kalamazoo.
